Lean Article
What is the bungee effect? The bungee effect is a new term to me as well, and as Jason shares in the article below, it’s a term for the recoil a trade feels when being pushed.
Takeaway - I really enjoyed the graphics shared in this article that show how the Bungee Effect is seen in the field. It’s a great reminder that pushing our trades does NOT improve the productivity of the crew.
Lean Podcast
Habits. Anyone on a self improvement journey will talk about habits and the importance of doing your best to develop and foster daily habits that will make you a better builder, leader or person. While daily habits are extremely important to shaping the person you are, taking time to think about and review your long term habits is just as important.
Takeaway- I have spent a lot of time focusing on my daily habits and trying to ensure I am prioritizing and doing the right things. This podcast helped me “zoom out” on things and look at the larger, long term habits I am developing.

Real Life Lean - Lean practices in the real world
It can be difficult to really pinpoint what the 8 wastes are when reading about them. The video below from LCI Field Crew shows the 8 wastes in action on a jobsite. I would be willing to bet this jobsite looks like most commercial construction sites across the country. It stacked with material, dirty and full of unproductive/unhappy crews. By eliminating the 8 wastes on your job site and creating a culture that actively avoids the 8 wastes, you can create a safer, more productive and happier jobsite.
