Lean Article
Implementing lean can be a challenge. Some individuals run towards lean and the opportunity for improvement, while others shy away from change. Andrew Mondragon offers 4 tips for generating lean buy in on your project. Total read time - 4 min
Lean Podcast
This episode of The EBFC Show featured Melanie Gilbertson who shares here lean experience and how her company focuses on lean implementation. One thing I loved from this episode was the PDCA loop that her team conducts monthly with their project teams. I think this is a great idea and a great way to improve through a project instead of waiting until the end of a project to learn. As Felipe says in this interview, it is filled with lean nuggets. Enjoy! Total listen time - 57 minutes.
Lean Event
What is a big room? Is it just an oversized room? What characteristics make something a big room? This event from LCI should answer these questions and more.
Real Life Lean - Lean practices outside of the construction world
While working on my current project, our team has to install 100+ outlets in a modular wall system. The outlets range from 18"AFF - 84"AFF. After completing our first of 12 rooms, our electricians saw we needed some improvement. Without even mentioning lean construction or the idea of lean, the electricians came up with the two templates seen below. These helped the team improve productivity and standardize their install. I am sure the ingenuity in this tool will be seen in the quality of our final product.
